A former Deputy Director of the F.B.I., Timothy Murphy is a recognized leader in areas such as Cybercrime, Criminal, Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Intelligence. Starting out as a police officer, Mr. Murphy joined the F.B.I. in 1988 and continued his career path through to Deputy Director, where he oversaw extensive program operations on a national and multinational level – providing him with unique experience and insight into global law enforcement.
Most recently, Mr. Murphy became President of Thomson Reuters Specials Services (TRSS) which specializes in working with the Government client base and select corporate customers. Prior to his current role, Mr. Murphy was a Vice President for MacAndrews and Forbes, Inc. in New York.
He is member of the Police Executive Research Forum, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the Department of State Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), Deputy Co-Chairman of the FBI/DHS Domestic Security Alliance Council (DSAC), the FBI Agents Association, and the FBI National Academy Associates. Mr. Murphy also holds several advisory and board roles with corporations, as well as The Foundation Board of Directors for Ferris State University.
A native of Michigan, Mr. Murphy maintains close ties to the intelligence and law enforcement communities and his expertise in global cyber, counterterrorism, intelligence, criminal, and security issues enable him to be a frequent public speaker on these issues, with high-demand from both the media and as a guest lecturer at colleges and universities.
